Welcome to CopenhagenMacro Days 27-28 May 2019




Danmarks Nationalbank and the University of Copenhagen will host on 27-28 May the CopenhagenMacro Days. After the Global Financial Crisis and the Great Recession, leading and emerging scholars in macroeconomics and finance have taken up the challenge of pushing the discipline forward and to rethink many economic paradigms. The aim of CopenhagenMacro Days is to bring together leading researchers promising young scholars and experts from the policy community to discuss the most interesting research in macroeconomics that has followed from this new impetus to the field.


On 27 May 2019 the University of Copenhagen, with joint sponsorship from the UniCredit Foundation,  organise a conference inviting the leading young PhD economists in macroeconomics graduating in 2019 to present and discuss their work. A prize of 1000 EUR will be awarded during the conference to the most promising junior macroeconomist.


Confirmed junior speakers include: Thomas Drechsel (LSE), Stephanie Johnson (Northwestern), Laura Castillo-Martinez (LSE), Pooya Molavi (MIT) Christina Patterson (MIT), Olivier Wang (MIT)


On 28 May 2019 Danmarks Nationalbank and the University of Copenhagen organise a conference inviting submissions in all fields of macroeconomics.


Confirmed speakers include: Stefania Albanensi (University of Pittsburgh), Lawrence J. Christiano (Northwestern University), Tim Lanvoigt (Wharton, School), Johan Leahy (University of Michigan), Lasse Heje Pedersen (Copenhagen Business School).
